If you were able to travel through time and space, would you? Would you leave everyone you know to go forward through time? Lately I have been contemplating the concept for an art project I want to do. Some of us travel through time often by flying or driving to a different time zone, but that is not the time travel I am talking about. I am talking about going to a different year. Based on science it is not possible to go back in time at the current because that would require a craft that could go faster then the speed of light. In the future it may become possible but that doesn’t help me at the present time.

So let’s look forward in time. Going forward in time would still require a craft that could go fast, but it could be possible in the near future. How I would love to go forward in time. But at what cost? I would most likely never see the people I know and love again. But to live in the future in a time where our craziestdreams can come true, but that is all just speculation. What If the future is the same as when you left? Is that a risk you want to take?

Ok so now I got you hooked onto trying to figure out where I am going with this. That is easy to answer, the next project I want to do involves writing letters to your self in the past. That is all I am going to say about that for now. More to come soon.

With many emerging technologies, it is important to remember our roots. In today’s world, with programmers trained in modern, high level languages such as C++ or Java, many of these programmers neither understand nor appreciate the languages and methods of yore. Assembly, or machine code, is the lowest level language that humans can use to give instructions to a microprocessor. This project demonstrates how programmers use assembly code to elicit complex interactions between multiple pieces of hardware. This project also demonstrates how much effort and teamwork is involved with achieving such seemingly rudimentary tasks. This program was written as a final project for our Computer Architecture class.
